Bed&Breakfast
Lakeland House Bed&Breakfast:
1 week (7 nights) including breakfast, lunch and a 16' aluminium fishing boat for 6 days: €614 per person
(based on shared room and boat). This is an example for a week, but any duration of your stay in the B&B is possible. Please e-mail me for prices.
You can make your own lunches free of charge using the food and coffee/tea provided at the self service breakfast. A lunch box and a flask are provided. This is included in the price.
Self catering houses
Trident holiday home, you will have to book these holiday homes yourself, I will provide the fishing boats, so this is only a price indication:
1 week (7 nights) including fishing boat(s) for 6 days:
- 2 anglers and a standard 16' aluminium fishing boat: from €475 per person (depending on booking dates)
- 4 anglers and two standard 16' aluminium fishing boats: from €375 per person (depending on booking dates)
Boat hire only:
- standard 16' aluminium boats: €120/day, €500/week I don't do day hire, the minimum is 2 consecutive days.
- luxury 16' aluminium boats: €150/day, €620/week I don't do day hire, the minimum is 2 consecutive days.
All hire boats are equipped with 4-stroke outboard engines, fishfinder, rod holders, swivel seats, drift anchor and a bilge pump. See Boats&Guiding for boat description and photo's
Other prices
Fishing guide: If you have not hired a boat from me on the day of guiding the total cost for boat plus fishing guide is €320 per day for 1 or 2 anglers. When you have hired a boat from me on the day of guiding I will give you a discount of €120, so only a surcharge of €200 applies. I will guide 1 or 2 anglers for a full day. A third person is €60 extra. Instead of the boat you hired we will use my own fast US style boat, the Tuffy 1760 Esox (see Boats&Guiding).
Dinner
Main dishes in the restaurants vary from €15-€25 for most dishes and a few euro extra for some dishes like a big quality steak. Three course meals are available from €25. There is also the option of take away food, both standard take away (burgers, chips, pizza etc.) and a Chinese and Indian take away.

Cancellation The following charges will apply in case of cancellation (per booking): more than 8 weeks before the arrival date: €250, 8 to 2 weeks before the arrival date: 50% of the total sum, less than 2 weeks before the arrival date: full sum
Travel information
Flight Information
Thanks to low-cost airlines the cost of flying has gone down over the years. From most countries in Europe you can fly to Ireland from €80 for a return flight. The most convenient airports to fly to in Ireland are Dublin Airport and Cork Airport.
A useful website to arrange your flights to and from Ireland is www.skyscanner.com. It is also easy to check which airport in your area you can fly from and where in Ireland you can fly to. On this website you can type in the country you are flying from and type “Ireland” as the country you are flying to. This way you get an overview of the cheapest flights and you also automatically see which airports in your area offer direct flights to Ireland!
A low cost airline that usually offers the cheapest flights is www.ryanair.com

Flying on weekdays is often a bit cheaper than weekends

Use the full weight allowance of your hand luggage, this is usually 10 kg. Checked luggage is usually 15-20 kg, so you can bring 25-30 kg altogether! It is better to use sports bags than suitcases. Suitcases are heavier, so you can not bring as much luggage.

Rod hire is available, this will save you the cost and hassle of bringing a rod tube on the plane.
From the airport to Killaloe
From Dublin Airport or Cork Airport to Killaloe is about 2 hours by car. The company www.rentalcars.com offers the best rates for car hire. You can change the language at the top of the website. Car hire is not expensive in Ireland.
You can also travel by bus. These are comfortable coaches with a big luggage room and sometimes free wifi and a toilet.
The following companies offer connections from Dublin Airport to busstops in the Killaloe area. You have to take a taxi from the busstop to get to your accommodation in Killaloe.

For the return journey our advice is to book a bus which arrives at the terminal at least two hours before your flight departs.
From Cork Airport you can take a bus to Limerick-Henry Street. You have to take a taxi from Henry Street in Limerick to get to your accommodation in Killaloe.

There is no taxi rank near the busstops. A local taxi company in Killaloe can collect you from the busstop and bring you to your accommodation. I can arrange this for you if you like.
